Two Helpful Tips from the Maryland Department of Transportation to
save Gasoline and reduce your Fuel Bill:
-
Keep your car maintained and running
smoothly -- get regular tune ups, replace dirty air and fuel
filters, use proper grade of oil, do not overfill your gas tank,
properly inflate your tires, and do not buy "aggressive"
tread tires if your car does not require them
-
Use your car's engine wisely
-- avoid excessive idling, use cruise control on the highway, shift
up as quickly as possible when using a manual transmission, and
run your air conditioner when traveling over 40 mph. It is
more efficient than driving with the windows rolled down at that
speed.
